According to DodgerBlue, Los Angeles CF Joc Pederson is only the second player in franchise history to post two seasons with 25+ home runs before turning 25. Pederson, who is 24 years old, hit 26 HRs in his rookie season last year and has 25 so far this year. The other player was Duke Snider.

No playoffs for Astros, Yankees

Baltimore's win Thursday eliminated Alex Bregman's Houston Astros (83-76) and Richard Bleier's New York Yankees (83-76) from the A.L. Wild Card race.

Los Angeles CF Joc Pederson went 2-for-5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBIs in a 9-4 win over San Diego. In addition, we neglected to show you this tumbling, acrobatic catch Pederson made Tuesday against the Padres' Austin Hedges. The Dodgers (91-68) have clinched the N.L. West title and are battling the Washington Nationals (93-66) for home-field advantage in their upcoming playoff series.

Batting fifth, Oakland RF Danny Valencia went 2-for-4 with a single and a double in a 3-2 loss to the Angels. Valencia also earned his sixth outfield assist, tying him for 9th among A.L. right fielders despite having just 70 total chances at the position. The players ahead of him on the list range from 178 chances to 353.

Toronto CF Kevin Pillar went 1-for-3 in a 4-0 loss to Baltimore. The second straight defeat moved the Blue Jays and Orioles (87-72) into a tie for the A.L.'s top Wild Card spot.

Reliever Richard Bleier pitched a perfect 9th inning in the Yankees' 5-1 win over Boston. In two stints with New York this season, rookie Bleier is 0-0 with a 2.14 ERA. He has struck out 13 batters and walked just 3 over 21 innings and has held opposing hitters to a .238 average.

Ian Kinsler's Tigers were supposed to play Cleveland, but the game was rained out. The Tigers (85-73) have won 2 in a row and sit 1.5 games behind Baltimore and Toronto for the second and final A.L. Wild Card spot.

Alex Bregman's Astros were Idle.

Ryan Braun's Brewers were idle.

Scott Feldman did not play in Toronto's 4-0 loss to Baltimore.
