Thank you to our Newest "Founding Partners"
Founding Partners are organizations and institutions that have made financial contributions to support the New Day Campaign. We are proud to announce these three organizations as our most recent Founding Partners!
- Evergreen Health Care - Evergreen Health Care is a local nonprofit health services organization that was founded to better address health and disease through the delivery of robust primary medical care, care coordination, and behavioral health services. They take the time to understand the hurdles that patients face in managing their health, whether mental health diagnoses, grief, financial management, or other life stressors. The organization is affiliated with Evergreen Health, an Affordable Care Act-sponsored health plan that is bringing health insurance competition to the Maryland insurance market.
- IBR REACH Health Services - The REACH (Recovery Enhanced by Access to Comprehensive Healthcare) Health Services program is a comprehensive, patient-centered and trauma informed outpatient substance use disorders treatment facility offering outpatient, intensive outpatient and medication assisted treatment services to those with substance use disorders. REACH is part of the Institute for Behavioral Resources (IBR) an independent nonprofit research, services, and educational organization founded in 1960 by prominent behavioral scientist Dr. Joseph V. Brady and headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland.
- NAMI Metro Baltimore – The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Metropolitan Baltimore is an affiliate of the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization, serving Baltimore City and Baltimore County. NAMI Metro Baltimore and dedicated volunteers work together to raise awareness and provide essential education, advocacy, and support programs to individuals living with mental illness, their families, and communities. #YouGoodMan
Rapper Kid Cudi's public statement about checking himself into treatment for depression and suicidal thoughts has inspired a call to action on the issue of mental health among black men. At the core of the issue is shattering the stigma that keeps black men from being honest and seeking help. That's where a new hashtag #YouGoodMan comes in.
Opiate overdose deaths in Maryland continue to climb In September, Maryland public health officials released the updated data on Drug and Alcohol-Related Intoxication Deaths in Maryland. In the first six months of 2016, 920 people in Maryland died of opiate overdoses, compared to 601 in the same period for 2015. The dramatic spike surprised state officials and researchers and has been attributed largely to the highly-potent ingredient fentanyl that is increasingly mixed into heroin and cocaine. Read more (including the report) in coverage by The Washington Post and the Baltimore Sun.
Bruce Springsteen - Life with Depression
