School Board Candidate Forum

TONIGHT October 3rd 6:30 p.m. Harding Elementary Auditorium

Please attend a school board candidate forum hosted by Bayside Council of PTAs. The first forum is tonight at Harding Elementary School's Auditorium. Please join us at this forum especially designed for parents and teachers!

Community Sing

TODAY, October 3rd  8:30 - 9:00 a.m. Lower Playground


The first Monday of every month immediately at the start of school, we have a wonderful community sing with our lovely music instructor, Ms Wu. The whole school gathers together to sing songs about friendship and peace.

Parents please stick around for 30 minutes after drop-off, and join in the community sing.

Principal Tea

Friday, October 7th  8:35 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. Library

Last month at Principal Tea, we heard about all the wonderful Professional Development Programs our Teachers are partaking in. These programs will continue to enrich our students with a deeper learning and understanding.

If you missed the last Principal Tea, not to worry. There's more lively conversation happening this Friday. Come join the discussion with Ms. Makela in the school library immediately after drop off.

Plan ahead - Principal Teas are generally the first Friday of every month.

Teacher Luncheon

Friday, October 14th 12:00 - 1:00 Teacher's Lounge

Attn: 2nd and 3rd Grade Families! 
Please help us kick off this is a long standing tradition at Madera. Its a great way to show your support for our school, and the teachers love it! If you are available to bring a dish for the fabulous teachers and staff at Madera, please contact your room rep.

ME! Games Spectacular

ME Games / Carnival / Jog-A-Thon

Saturday October 22, 2016 11:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Lower Yard

On October 22nd, 2016 Madera will host the ME! Games Spectacular which will include the second annual Jog-a-thon Fundraiser, Carnival, Games, U-Pick Pumpkin Patch and Food Galore! Students will work their way through sit-ups, jump rope, toilet toss, face painting, water balloon catapult just to name a few of the games that will be at the event.

The U-Pick Pumpkin Patch sponsored by the 6th grade business owners and the Growing Green Project will have pumpkins ranging from $2 - $20 as well as Indian Corn, gourds and mini pumpkins. There will also be Tri-tip sandwiches for $12 and a Taco Truck selling all kinds of yummy treats, and Jamba Juice smoothies.

If you raise at least $60 you will get a Madera Running Club T-shirt (Let’s Owl Run), If you raise $150 you will get a Madera Running Club Sweatshirt (Let’s Owl Run) New color shirt this year Orange!! Students will collect the pledge money the week after the Jog-a-thon. Final pledges will be due by November 4th in order to receive a free t-shirt or sweatshirt (if you raise the minimum of $60 or $150). All money raised supports the programs at Madera; Garden, Art, Science, Music, Field Trips and much more.

This is a can't miss event! Fun for all ages. 

Get ready and go Madera for EATS, TREATS, MEETS and FEETS! 

Look for Pledge sheets in this weeks blue folder.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Sign Up sheets will be available next week. Every classroom will have a booth to station.
