From the Desk of the CEO
September is an exciting and inspiring month for the sector.
We celebrate recovery, with many events held by our members across the province, including the London recovery breakfast and the Hamilton recovery dinner (both pictured below), which I was fortunate to attend. Recovery month reminds us the power of story-telling to change lives and help us speak out for investments in care and services.
Our provincial legislators also headed back to Queen's Park this month, where the Premier prorogued the legislature to deliver a speech from the throne September 12. This wiped all the bills from the docket, and the Patients First Act has yet to be reintroduced. There are, however, new mandate letters that provide an update on the government's priorities in our sector.
Events season is also getting underway, and we hope to see you at our AGM and CoP November 14 and 15, 2016 at the Holiday Inn Toronto Airport.
Talk soon,
Gail Czukar
