Habitat X Change to debut in Quito

A new exhibit space for science and visualisation for cities

This October attendees at Habitat III, the largest summit on cities in the history of the United Nations, can check out a new exhibition, which will showcase cutting-edge visualisations from cities around the globe. A collaboration between Future Earth, the International Council for Science (ICSU) and the Potsdam University of Applied Science.

In the lead up to Habitat III, Future Earth and Habitat X Change are rolling out a series of blogs exploring how research will shape the future of cities. Take part in the discussion on whether we need an "IPCC for cities," how science and cities can work together and what data visualisation can do for science.
New partnership for climate data
Future Earth has joined a newly launched effort called PREP, which will put data and information to work in helping communities to respond to climate change. People "need high-quality data and information to make critical choices about the challenges they face every day," says Future Earth's Josh Tewksbury.
