                                                                                                             A NICE TWIST

                                                                                                                 MOTEZ

Way back before Motez was making bangers and rocking festivals, he was getting some classical piano know how and its these skills that he flexes on Own Up. Clearly influenced by the 90's, Own Up is a fresh and revitalized update rather than pastiche but not only this, in a nice twist, it still manages to sound like it came from the guy that made Roof Ride Back. Motez is many things. He’s #1 ‘next big thing’ (In The Mix), a key 2014 ‘artist to watch’ (MTV), an ‘artist to watch out for’ (vibe magazine), and he’s earned the attention of dudes like Flume, who named Motez as one of his most excited artists alongside Ta-ku and Wave Racer.

He’s chalked up two Hype Machine #1s, had main support duties for Disclosure’s most recent Australian tour, was the only Australian to be invited to play the debut Oceanic tour by cult-followed Hard-presents, played to thousands on the main stage of Field Day, and had 3 tracks in Australia’s TOP TEN most played EPs of 2013 by Stoney Roads. Impressive! VERY.
                                       SLANDER
      BRING THAT EMOTION BACK

When it comes to talking about meteoric rises, Slander’s definitely comes to mind. Hailing from Orange County, California, the duo’s signature ‘heaven trap’ sound has rapidly established them as the reigning Kings of Trap. Derek Anderson & Scott Land’s nonstop hustle with creating tracks, whether it be sick remixes of Alison Wonderland, Showtek, and Jack U or originals New Monarchy & the Nuclear Bonds EP, have no doubt helped the duo become a mainstage mainstay on the summer festival circuit. One of the most hard working acts in the game and true testament to dedication to your craft and sound will reap rewards if you believe in what you do.

D E A D M A U 5
S T R O B E
Its common conversation amongst DJ, clubbing enthusiasts and strictly one eyed genre enforcers that in most cases classics should be left at exactly that - classics. But from time to time exceptions are made and here is one of those exceptions with approval from the man with the giant mouse ears himself. 'Strobe' arguably one of the Deadmau5's biggest releases of all time and most definitely one of our favourites get the remix treatment in the biggest of packages. Not known to do things in halves, our cheese loving friend has put together 5 equally and as unique mixes of 'Strobe' here for lovers of all vibes! Under his new ATTLAS guise is the pick of the bunch for us for its epic journey of a breakdown but dont let us take the fun out of finding a favourite amongst the pot of gold! What a package. DRW 5/5.

DENNIS CRUZ
B A D  B E H A V I O U R

Suruba X is proud to announce its 39th release courtesy of Dennis Cruz - Bad Behaviour 4 track EP, his second EP with the label in 2016 and hopefully #2 in many more to follow. The EP debuts 3 new originals from Dennis, Bad Behavior, Mr. Fox & Shake it while rounding out the package a remix from Get Physical's Siopis with his interpretation of Mr Fox which draws its own emotive path from start to finish. The title track is where its at for most here with the obvious vocal references that push the boundaries & work at all the usual late night hangouts! Tech House in 2016 fashion, pulled back a few BPM and just that little bit darkera and tougher.  9//10 DRW
 THE ONLY UNKNOWN  NGHTMRE
NGHTMRE’s rise to the top has been a dream to say the least. Some would say he arrived the day Skrillex made his ID the only unknown record in his 2015 Ultra set, a record that would go on to be arguably the biggest Trap song that summer. After playing his first headline gigs the week after, Tyler went on to hit almost every major festival in North America, including Lollapalooza, EDC Las Vegas, TomorrowWorld, Snow Globe, Freak Night, OMFG NYE, Moonrise, Contact Music Festival, and LifeInColor Festival. Only three months in as a touring DJ, he headlined six cities throughout Australia at legendary clubs such as Chinese Laundry and Ambar. He’s known for his various Mad Decent smashes, including the trap song of the summer “Street” and his collaboration with Flosstradamus entitled “Lighters Up.”. Forgotten Island's music curating has Trap Enthusiasts covered and then some.
GRACE JONES    NEVER WRiTE MY MEMOIRS
Before there was Madonna or Lady Gaga, there was Grace Jones. The creator of that gender-bending, hypersexual persona has been a supermodel, a muse for artists like Andy Warhol and Keith Haring, and a musician whose influence is still felt throughout popular music to this day. Now, she's telling her story in a memoir titled I'll Never Write My Memoirs, which shines a spotlight on every side of her — including Beverly Grace Jones ("Bev"), the more reserved childhood version of the future star. Born in Jamaica, Bev was raised by her step Grandfather 'Mask' the ferocious disciplinarian but when 'Grace' was reborn after relocation to the USA riding with the Hells Angels, joining nudist colonies and developing her style and art form is all just a part of her story! Check the interview both audio and written live on Bali Clubbing now ahead of her much anticipated show at Potato Head next month!
 DIGGING DEEPER   ROSCO

 PEKING DUK IS SERVED

SNAPCHAT’S SPECTACLE GLASSES HAVE BEEN REVEALED
Snapchat took everyone by surprise on Thursday when they announced Spectacles, glasses that can record up to 30-second videos and upload them to a user’s Snapchat account. Announced with news that Snapchat is rebranding as Snap, Inc., the Spectacles draw a clear parallel to the failed Google Glass glasses that Google released, but these glasses promise to be more focused, more affordable and more stylish. Snap, Inc. revealed further information on the Spectacles, covering features, battery life and more. Among previously announced information stating the Spectacles cost $130 and contain a 115-degree lens, the new product from Snap, Inc. will come in three colors: black, teal and coral.
