Our next big project!

Did you know that there's another trail system in San Francisco? We have been teasing you about it for a while. The trails have been off the radar for some time, and now SF Urban Riders is proud to announce that we're working with the Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation center to restore trails on their property. We applied for and received a Community Challenge Grant earlier this year with support from the Hospital, neighbors, the SF Parks Alliance and Sutro Stewards.

Come celebrate this project's beginning with us at Laguna Honda's 150th anniversary celebration on October 15th. RSVP at  lagunahonda150.eventbrite.com .

We are finishing project paperwork and initial planning now.

That's where you come in! We're going to start digging once the wet season returns, with a tentative first date of December 10th.  Want to be a crew leader or help us with planning and work with well known local trail designers? Just reply to this email.
Have you heard the trail bells which SF Urban Riders has had at volunteer and other public events? Recently, we partnered with TIMBER to bring their passive mountain bike bell design to a few shops here in SF.

The pleasant automatic ring makes your presence known. and other trail users smile. They’ve also got a handy “silent mode” that allows you to turn off the noise entirely when you’re riding to and from the trails.

The first shop to carry them is Wiggle Bicycles. Pick one up today: $20 can go a long way to happy trail users.
Support riding in McLaren Park this Saturday

Speaking of trail systems, a well known one is McLaren Park. This Saturday is a great chance to let SF Recreation and Parks know that you want more trails for off road bicycling. How? By coming out to the picnic area in the park and showing your support at the McLaren Park Project Planning Workshop. There will be activities to help guide decision about the park's future, including prioritization of $10 million from the 2012 Parks bond.

We will be riding down before hand; for the details, see  https://www.facebook.com/events/1656616654650793 .

If you can't make it, please call in and let them know how much you love the trail system in the park and want to ride there. Call 415 214 9538 project 001
