TORCHBEARER 🔆
We set aside 15 minutes of every meet to devote to the idea of INSPIRATION. One of us will be the Torchbearer and share something that inspires them (to write, to think, to be). This could be a picture, a piece of writing or video, a prop, a talk or anything else.

Our Torchbearer this time will be Komal Yadav.

At a loss on what to write? Here's our weekly recipe:

#PushToWrite: Dark & Stormy Sambar

We are going to play demon child with this week's prompt and do exactly what we are told not to do. Writing is all about saying something different or saying it in a different way. This time though, we're going to reclaim the big, bad CLICHE.

Write a piece riddled with cliches and make it actually work. Play mad-scientist-detective and trace the origin of a particular cliche. Pick a stock character that's been done to death and infuse new life into them, without losing the essence of what they stand for. Spin a hate piece for patterns that everyone loves. For extra points, take a look at your own personal cliches. What are your most overused phrases, thoughts, writing patterns? Can you figure out a way to own them rather than letting them drag you into mediocrity?

We're going to embrace the inner demons of repetition and take them out on a spin with this one. Here are some resources to get you started:

*This is an optional prompt.
