£25 million Independent living fund announced for those with learning disabilities

The Department of Health has opened the bidding for a new fund aimed at helping people with learning disabilities to live independently with the best care and support. Local authorities from across the UK have been invited to apply for a share of £25 million.

Free Webinar series on the Bridging Programme – first one on 10th October

We are hosting a series of free webinars around the Bridging programme - a national programme which develops the study skills that motivated and capable healthcare workers need to prepare, progress and succeed in all health related vocational Degrees, Foundation Degrees and vocational HE Diplomas.

Level 3 Diploma for Health Screeners now available

Skills for Health has been working with Public Health England, Health Education England and Awarding Organisations to develop a new qualification for NHS Health Screeners.

The Pioneers Programme

We continue to work with partners on the pioneers programme. The pioneers programme is a collaboration of 25 local pioneer sites and the national health and care partners seeking to support the development and implementation of higher value integrated models.

Our Health Heroes

We have had an overwhelming number of nominations for the Our Health Heroes Awards. Over 500 applications have been received from across the UK to celebrate the healthcare support workforce. All nominations will be reviewed and finalists will be announced 31st of October.
