NDPC ANNUAL FORUM
The main event of the NDPC - the NDPC annual Forum will take place in Saint Petersburg on November 29-30, 2016. This time the Forum will continue its wider theme of the last year “Culture and Factor of Growth”, but focusing on the synergies of culture and creative industries (CCIs) and tourism, as well as gastronomic tourism, innovation in museums and creative clusters. A Forum preparation meeting took place on September 12 at the premises of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Russia being the Chair country of NDPC in 2016. Experts representing NDPC countries will take part at the forum as speakers, and quite wide audience is expected.

BALTIC SEA REGION: FROM PLANNING TO COMMON ACTIONS
The 5th Annual Meeting “Baltic Sea Region (BSR): from Planning to Common Actions” took place in Kaliningrad on September 23 at the Museum of World Ocean. The conference discussed results and prospects of development of the BSR collaboration, cross – border collaboration with the focus on Kaliningrad region, as well as sampled different platforms and fields of collaboration in the BSR. The key issues of the conference were: cooperation around the BSR; the role of BSR collaboration in the economic development of Kaliningrad and various BSR collaboration instruments in the context of wider European collaboration.

7TH STRATEGY FORUM OF EUSBSR AND PARALLEL EVENTS
The 7th Strategy Forum of EUSBSR hosted by Sweden together with the Nordic Council of Ministers and in close cooperation with the European Commission will be held on November 8-9, 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden. The overall thematic focus will be the future for the Baltic Sea Region and a desired vision for 2030. The Strategy Forum will be used to discuss how the EUSBSR can or should contribute to a desired development within its three objectives: Save the Sea, Connect the Region and Increase Prosperity. The Forum will also feature:
The Northern Dimension Day that will be held back-to-back with the Strategy Forum on November 7. Following the lines of the EUSBSR Strategy Forum, the ND Day will be envisioning the future of the Northern Dimension in 2030. Topics of discussion include e.g. visions about the achievements of ND cooperation by 2030 and topical challenges within the thematic areas of the four partnerships in 2030;
18th Baltic Development Forum Summit that will be held on 8 November in conjunction with the Strategy Forum. On the programme there is a range of interesting speakers from finance, business and politics, together outlining the potential of the Baltic Sea Region in terms of competitiveness, attractiveness and political collaboration;
EUSBSR Policy Area Culture coordinators are organizing a session “How do the cultural and creative sectors encourage cooperation, innovation and inclusion in a culturally diverse BSR?” on the November 8 at 15:00 - 16:20 within the framework of the Strategy Forum. Do not miss!

EUSBSR Seed Money support for projects
The first call of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Seed Money instrument opened on September 21. Interested parties are welcome to submit their applications until October 28. Seed money is funding provided by the Interreg BSR Programme to support the preparation of projects in line with the Action Plan of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. Seed money provides a great opportunity to develop your project idea further, expand your partnership and prepare for the next step - elaborate an application for submission to any funding source available in the Baltic Sea region.

APPLY NOW - NORDIC CULTURE POINT GRANT PROGRAMS
Professional artists and others actively involved in arts and culture (e.g. curators, producers, literary translators, cultural editors and researchers) in all cultural and artistic genres are invited to apply to the Nordic-Baltic Mobility program. Mobility Funding provides artists and cultural operators with the opportunity to travel and make new contacts in the region, exchange resources and skills, present artistic and cultural productions, promote interest in Nordic and Baltic arts and share sources of inspiration from the arts and culture. Mobility Funding is granted for travels and stays within the Nordic region and the Baltic states. Applicants must be residents of the Nordic region (Denmark, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Åland) or the Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania), but do not need to be Nordic or Baltic nationals. Application deadline is October 24.

NEW IDENTITY AND WEB DEVELOPMENT FOR NDPC
NDPC is currently working on a brand new visual identity and web development. The new corporate image advencement was undertaken in spring together with Demola Latvia, an organization that facilitates multidisciplinary co-creation with students, and CUBE Systems, a company that provides modern digital services. Demola students carried out an in-depth research about NDPC, including interviews with stakeholders. Taking into account the context and challenges, with the help of design methods, guided by Demola facilitators and CUBE Systems experts, the students generated ideas for a new NDPC visual identity and web structure and tested them with the users. The process has now been overtaken by professionals who will further give life to the new coporate image tools for NDPC followed by students' ideas. We expect to publicly showcase the new visual identity and web by the end of this year.

NEW PROGRAM FOR NORDIC-RUSSIAN COOPERATION
A budget of DKK 6 million for 2016 has been attributed by the Nordic Council of Ministers to a new co-operation programme between the Nordic Region and Russia which aims to increase stability, security and development in the region. The application process for the programme will open on 3 October. The programme forms part of the Nordic Council of Ministers’ latest efforts with regard to co-operation with Russia, as adopted by the Ministers for Nordic Co-operation at the start of the year. The new programme supports co-operation between local and regional authorities, educational institutions, civic organisations, business organisations, and think tanks in all fields that are of mutual Nordic-Russian interest.

UPCOMING CCI EVENTS IN OUR REGION
Design for Europe Summit will be held on October 6 in Tallinn, Estonia. This is a free, day-long event that will demonstrate the transformational effect of design within European businesses and governments and provide solutions for future economic growth. The summit will discuss how design drives innovation, the skills our workforce need for the future, how design can address societal challenges and what we need to do to implement innovation more effectively. Organized by Design for Europe.
NordicBaltic Festival Plaform Conference will be held on November 3-4 in Vilnius, Lithuania. The conference will convene Nordic-Baltic festival representatives and other arts professionals. Organized by the NordicBaltic Festival Platform.
4th Strategic Project Development Workshop, organized by EUSBSR Policy Area Culture coordinators, will take place on November 9 and 10 lunch-to-lunch in the premises of the Goethe Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, and will deal with Audience Development. More information will follow soon.
Creative Business Cup (CBC), the global initiative for entrepreneurship and innovation, will be held on November 20-21 in Copenhagen, Denmark. CBC empowers entrepreneurs in the creative industries, connects them to investors and global markets and strengthens their innovative capabilities to the benefit of industry and society. 70 national partners have already joined CBC and are busy planning the participation of their national winners in CBC, when they will compete in a global creative entrepreneurship battle. The International finals will be held at Copenhagen Business School. In addition to CBC Finals, several Creative Business Cup challenges, including food, health, sustainable living and others, are foreseen and all startups are invited to participate and contribute with their novel ideas and solution proposals.
Tallin Music Week 2017 (TMW) has opened the artist application round at the festival’s homepage. The ninth edition of TMW will take place in Tallinn, Estonia from March 27 to April 2, 2017. Applications from all regions and music genres are welcome until 1st November. TMW is the new music festival that offers a multi-genre mix of around 200 acts from the Baltics, across Europe and beyond. The line-up, spanning from outsider artists to chart-pop acts and from folk innovators to classical musicians, is put together on the basis of artist submissions by a broad team of Estonian music experts and event promoters. TMW delegate passes are available for a special “early bird” rate €100 until September 30 and festival passes are available for €40 at TMW web store until November 30.
Creative Powers for Europe, a Forum on Values of Cultural and Creative Industries, will be held in Malmö, Sweden, on November 22. It is organized and hosted by Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth, Swedish Arts Council and Region Skåne, for discovering new ways to support our cultural and creative industries in contributing to the social, economic and environmental values that are needed now more than ever.
