October 2016

Open for Autumn...
Just a reminder that the nursery stays open to visitors until the last Sunday in October.  Our normal opening hours apply:  Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 9.30am to 5pm.  This is the perfect time to come and see lots of grasses in flower; especially Miscanthus, Molinia, Panicum and Pennisetum.  They have been looking particularly good in the low autumn sun.

Lots of new things are still going out for sale.  Most recently we have put out: Centaurea montana 'Lady Flora Hastings', Solidago x luteus 'Lemore' and Bergenia 'Claire Maxine'.  As always, keep watching the website, or come and see us during Ocotober.

Star Plant this Summer: Geranium 'Fay Anna'.
Every year there are some plants that really stand out as star performers, and this year it has to be Geranium 'Fay Anna'.  Still going strong, it has been covered in lilac-pink flowers non-stop since May.  The bronzed foliage with spring and autumn tints makes a good well-behaved clump 45cm tall and 90cm across.  The plant is sterile, so there is no self-seeding to worry about, but, best of all, it is always humming with bees.  We love it.
