Dear friends and clients, happy fall!

The autumnal equinox was last week, a snapshot of balance when day equals night, light equals dark. Equinox is a time of perfect balance -- but it lasts just a moment. All other moments are either coming into or out of balance.

Our lives are like this. We may have glimpses of perfect balance, but in reality "balance" is a moving target, and to think that we can somehow pinpoint and nail down balance once and for all is contrary to what nature teaches. Sometimes I find it useful to scrap the word "balance" altogether, and instead focus on balancing. Life is a balancing act whereby we do our best to work harmoniously with all the seasons and experiences we encounter.

Autumn is the perfect time to reevaluate what supports your personal balancing act. It's also a natural time to let go of things (people, places, foods, relationships, thoughts) that are pushing you too far in one direction, and ultimately out of balance. I'm starting a 21-day food based cleanse this week courtesy of Holistic Nutritional Consultant Linda Engelbrecht at Be Well Bodyworks. Would love to share if you're interested in knowing more.

Whether it's during your next massage, your feelings about this upcoming election, or on your next family vacation -- try living in the "this too shall pass" mindset. It might free up a little more patience, curiosity and creativity to do and be your best self.

Lastly, I want to share a letter from Tami Simon, Founder of Sounds True. I have worked at Sounds True on and off for years and I love what she has to say about balancing our spiritual paths with the work we are called to do in the world -- in this case VOTING come November. Read what she has to say here.

Gratitude for ALL of you, my dear and cherished clients, and enjoy this beautiful time!!

Calendula flowers from my back yard. Currently infusing these in organic oils for medicinal massage oil and homemade face cream. Should have plenty made by Thanksgiving. A new batch of cozy rice bags in the making, too!
