Covenant Renewal
This Sunday, October 2, is Northstar’s annual celebration of membership! Each year, all of our members reaffirm their desire to be a part of the mission and ministry of our church by renewing their membership covenants. As a covenant membership church, Northstar desires that our membership be meaningful. As we encourage one another to not just go to church but to be the church, this annual membership renewal reminds us that being members of a church means actively following Jesus with our lives.

Not a Member of Northstar?
Have you been thinking about taking that next step toward membership with Northstar? During each of our Covenant Renewal services this Sunday, at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m., we will be offering our membership class, Discovering Northstar for any who would like to learn more about what it means for us to be a covenant membership church. If you are interested in participating in one of the classes offered this Sunday, please indicate that by filling out our interest form here.

Harvest Hoedown 2016!
Northstar's annual Harvest Hoedown is coming up on Saturday, October 8, 2016! If you have never attended this event in the past, you don't know what you're missing! Beginning at 6:00 p.m., we will have hayrides out to the pumpkin patch, a corn maze, hot dogs and s'mores to eat, and a time of line dancing to wrap up the evening. Tickets will be on sale this Sunday before and after each worship service. You can purchase tickets for $5.00 in advance or $7.00 at the gate on the day of the event, so be sure to get them early! Remember, this Sunday will be your last chance to purchase tickets at church before the event, so don't wait!

GO Pulaski County
Dave Farris and our friends at Northstar Pulaski have been hard at work this year putting together a volunteer initiative called GO Pulaski County. This Saturday, October 1, volunteers from a number of churches in Pulaski will gather together to complete more than a dozen service projects and we need your help! You are encouraged to join with the volunteers at GO Pulaski County and seize this opportunity to give back to the community while tangibly demonstrating the love of Jesus toward others.

GIVING TO NORTHSTAR

Northstar Church is supported entirely by the generous giving of our members and regular attenders. Thank you for your faithfulness and support.

Immeasurably More Campaign & Building Design Update
Stop by the Immeasurably More Campaign page on our website and look at the tentative interior and exterior design images!

Did you know that Northstar's website is regularly updated with blog posts each week? These posts cover various topics from events to different aspects of Northstar's ministries around the New River Valley and beyond. Here are some posts you might have missed this week!

Text to Give
We've implemented a new feature that makes it easier than ever to give for those of you who would like to participate but have left cash or checkbook at home. Simply text "Give $5" (or whatever amount you would like) to 540-427-7724 and, after a quick 1-minute set up process, you'll be ready to "text to give" with Northstar! You can designate which campus (Blacksburg or Pulaski), what fund (General, Immeasurably More, etc.), and your giving will be tracked on MyNorthstar for your own convenience and personal reporting.

Northstar Volunteer Ministry
A new semester has begun in Blacksburg and at Northstar Church. With the new semester come new opportunities to serve and we are actively looking for folks who are interested in meeting new people and want to invest in God's kingdom through service. You are encouraged to get involved in an area where you can use your talents to bless others, whether that be through set up and tear down on Sundays or in helping with children's ministry.
More info here.

Creative Content Team
Do you love to write? Are you into graphic design? What about photography or videography? Do you have your finger on the pulse of social media? Then the Creative Content Team may be just the place for you to serve this fall! We are looking for some creative individuals who are willing to use their talents to help Northstar reach out to others through our website and various social media outlets.
