Highlights from our road trip to Indiana and Michigan

We shared about our work and ministry in one church and in one home meeting during our time in Indiana.
Robert's sister, Fern invited all his brothers and sisters for a reunion lunch. It was such an enjoyable time of reminiscing, no one moved from the table till 7pm.
We spent a night with Robert's oldest brother, Ed, who will turn 87 this year. He lives alone and takes care of his house and his yard by himself and still finds time to play golf several times per week.
We picnicked with Robert's nephew and his family by the lake.
Our friend, Marilyn hosted a dinner party for us at her house. Some of the guests we had not seen in over 40 years. We had a chance to share about our work and ministry with them.

Bibles International, Grand Rapids, Michigan

Verna - teaching at Bibles International.
In the middle of our Indiana time, we drove up to Grand Rapids, Michigan where Verna taught Dictionary-making and Lexicography at Bibles International, a small Bible Translation Organization, who had requested help from Verna's department, Dictionary & Lexicography Services. It was an enjoyable time of making new friends and sharing what I know about compiling bi-lingual dictionaries.
Bethany Boston of BI wrote the following about her experience in the Seminar: Our guest speaker at the seminar taught us about making dictionaries, including useful strategies and computer resources for the process. She and her coworker even converted some older computer files we had of words and definitions for two of our language projects, so we could immediately practice what we were learning on those dictionaries. I am grateful for the time we spent learning some very simple ways to use these tools, including a computer program that previously seemed rather daunting to me. Praise the Lord for the practical encouragement this seminar was for us, and for ideas He has already given us of how to put the information to use in ways that can help make God's Word more accessible.

After Indiana, we drove to Manitoba, Canada

In Manitoba, we also shared about our work and ministry in one church and in one home meeting.
In Manitoba, we enjoyed a backyard "rollkuchen and watermelon" party with family.
While we were there, my 97 year-old aunt passed away, so we were able to attend her funeral.
Friends took us out on the lake in their boat. It was very peaceful out there.
Our friend, Elaine hosted us at her house. One evening, she hosted a dinner party for us and we shared our work and ministry with the guests.
Next month, we will highlight Verna's trip to
Germany, Georgia, and Turkey.

We want to thank each person who hosted us for night, for a meal, either in their home or at a restaurant. Thank you for your friendship, your prayers, and your financial support. Without you on our team, we would not be able to do the work Father God has called us to. We pray for you daily. May Father God continue to prosper you and keep you in health and may all your prayers be answered.
