Nile Fraser is a quarterly newsletter that provides ECCS-BC members & friends with its latest news, activities and upcoming events. Issue 8 - September 2016
MOVING FORWARD, ECCS-BC does now have, and for the first time, a good basis for a Strategic Plan for the next 10 years, 2016 - 2025, prepared with the participation of many Volunteers with our then Community Development Officer, Hany El-Heniedy, who was then an MBA candidate as well. Hany was working on this paper as his case study for the MBA program, and he does express his appreciation for all the input and contributions made by ECCS-BC's Board and members. He has successfully graduated this summer, and we wish him all the best in all his future endeavors.
Thank you ALL . .

ECCS-BC's celebration of Eid Al-Adha this September has been a marvelous success.
The celebration this year had shown a much bigger turn-out than anticipated and included new members from different walks of life in BC, long-time BC residents as well as newcomers, who share their interest in everything Egyptian!
A draw was organized, prizes were distributed and smiles have been drawn on numerous faces of all ages.
We thank our valuable members for entrusting us on organizing a memorable Eid for them and we thank our volunteers for throwing off the best party!

In British Columbia, as the gap between the growing market demand for translation and interpretation of Arabic language and the actual pool of these services' qualified providers is remarkably wide that we thought we'd introduce the idea to our possibly interested members.
The mission of the Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia is to promote the interests of translators and interpreters and to serve the public by applying a Code of Ethics that all members are bound to comply with and by setting and maintaining high professional standards through education and certification.
Based in Vancouver, BC, Canada, TARAB plays modern interpretations of Egyptian, Arabian, Lebanese and other Middle Eastern popular songs. Simultaneously traditional and progressive, TARAB weaves a mesmerizing sound that combines technical virtuosity and hypnotic Arabic, World, and Rock rhythms.
It is precisely this feeling TARAB strives to attain and transmit to their audience. TARAB’s music is a combination of Middle Eastern Folk, Film, and Classic songs, steeped in Jazz and Psychedelia. Both entrancing and danceable, their voluptuous belly dancing grooves, combined with the blistering Electric Oud, Sax and Drum solos and vocals, bring a tasty and authentic Middle Eastern flavour to your special event.
Egyptian Macaroni Bechamel !
We picked one of the primary gatherings dishes for you:
This is an Egyptian favorite. A ground meat mixture between two layers of pasta smothered in a creamy bachamel sauce. You can use any type of pasta you like. The most common are Penne (which is my favorite) angel hair, spaghetti or elbow macaroni. I have a glass dish that is 8x11 and I prefer to bake in this dish because I like it to be a little thick, but if you like it to be a little thinner than that you can opt for the larger 9x13.
