September update – #BacktoSchool

Hello all –

As always, autumn’s crisp weather seems to be quickening the blood – and the thirst for intel! In that vein, our 29 Sept cross-sector Brexit update with LSE’s Tony Travers has had a rush of sign-ups (a few spaces remain; email events@futureoflondon.org.uk ASAP to inquire).

If you miss that, you can still join the launch of our Managing Climate Change Exposure report with Arup 6 Oct; our series on the Mayor’s Transportation Strategy, kicking off 10 Nov with Deputy Mayor Val Shawcross and TfL’s Lucinda Turner; our Workspace research forum on 9 Nov and Workspace matching event 1 Dec; and the launch of our Build to Rent report with co-author Kath Scanlon of LSE 8 Dec. Inquiries: events@futureoflondon.org.uk.

On the leadership front, we were delighted with the game-raising Proposals for London from Future London Leaders Round 13 (see below), and to launch FLL Round 14 (21 Sept) and Leaders Plus Round 4 (4 Oct). For those of you who just want a good read, our Doing More with Less conference summary is online, with insight and tips from cross-sector leaders.

We’re able to manage all this with one of the best teams in the business, now set to grow! A big welcome to Business Manager Eric Asamoa and Interim Head of Networks Vanessa Pilla – and an enormous thank-you to Visakha Sri Chandrasekera, who was a guiding light as liaison from core sponsor Lovell, managed our FLL and Housing Zones Network courses for the last year, and is joining FoL supporter Rydon Construction. We hope to keep in touch!

Finally, a warm welcome to our newest and 50th member, asra Housing Group – a few more housing and trust organisations are about to join as well. Again, something in the air?

All the best and see you out there –
