Harvest is in full swing and most areas of the province find themselves with an average amount of harvesting completed for this time of year. Everyone is hoping for hot dry weather for the weeks to come.

The trend of Alberta farmers moving to Saskatchewan has continued throughout the summer and I fully expect to see many more come this way during the winter season. The amount of calls I have from Alberta Buyers has gone up exponentially compared to a year ago. Alberta Beef magazine has recently interviewed me to discuss this topic and the marketplace in general.

The summer season is typically a time when farm sales slow down. This year I have personally averaged 1 farm sale per week with the trend continuing right through summer and into fall.

The highlight of my summer was representing both the Buyers and Seller of a mega farm in North East Saskatchewan for $26,500,000. This farm was one of the largest sales ever to take place in Saskatchewan history. The sale included 50 quarters of highly producing farmland, 3 houses, multiple shops and outbuildings, a state of the art grain handling system, a full line of modern machinery and the crop in the field! It was a great honour to work so closely with the Buyers and Seller and I wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours.
