Oct. 3: Welcoming + Schools

As members of communities move forward to create welcoming spaces, the nation’s public schools have opened their doors, taking responsibility for helping tens of thousands of children find their footing. This webinar will explore how schools are working to incorporate a Welcoming Framework to improve educational outcomes for their students. Attendees will explore the needs of immigrant youth within schools and discuss a program aimed to end bullying among these youth in schools.

Oct. 4: Welcoming + Health Equity

Creating a welcoming community for immigrants can help to create a more healthy community for everyone, and such efforts to create health equity ensure that immigrants and refugees can participate fully and belong. This webinar will discuss the advancements in health equity over the past 10 years while examining the social determinants of health, addressing health disparities among immigrants and refugees, and highlighting the importance of using a health equity lens in welcoming work.

This webinar will feature the National Equity Atlas, a first-of-its-kind data and policy tool for the community leaders and policymakers who are working to build a new economy that is equitable, resilient, and prosperous. Participants will examining the economic indicators and getting a sense of how immigrants are faring in their communities.
