CSAA Insurance Group is one of the largest personal automobile and homeowner insurance carriers in Northern California, insuring more than 1 out of every 5 drivers in the Bay Area. Within the last decade, we have expanded nationally to write business in 23 states across the United States. As a member organization, we seek to provide the greatest value to our members with not only outstanding products, but also world-class service.
This year, we are looking for highly-motivated individuals looking to kick-start their careers in our 10-week, paid summer internship program within our Actuarial & Analytics department. As an intern, you will gain experience working with large data sets and using statistical analysis to recommend improvements to company operations in various ways, such as improving product performance, optimizing company expenses, and maintaining pricing algorithms. You will also collaborate with multiple teams and departments to address the company’s business needs.
Vertically Integrated Projects Program
The Vertically Integrated Projects program integrates undergraduate education and faculty research in a team-based environment. It provides an immersive, collaborative, and flexible learning environment in which undergraduate students earn academic credits by participating in a research project for up to three years, from sophomore through senior years. The students have the opportunity to learn and practice professional skills, experience different roles, and make substantial contributions to research projects. VIP offers a unique opportunity to apply principles and skills learned in courses to research problems in a creative environment over a long time. It will develop and strengthen technical, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaborative, mentoring, and communication skills. It will considerably enhance a graduating student’s professional readiness. Undergraduate students can earn 3-5 VIP credits/quarter and the courses will be letter graded.
