Turkey Trot Sponsors Wanted!

Do you own a local business? Do you know someone that owns a local business and may be interested in helping BMES? The Turkey Trot Committee is looking for sponsors for our big event! The sponsor letter below has all of the important information. The deadline for sponsorship commitment and submission of all required items is October 19, 2016. WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!! WE HAVE 15 OPEN TIME SLOTS FOR THIS YEAR'S BOOK FAIR. PLEASE CONSIDER VOLUNTEERING AN HOUR OR TWO SO WE CAN PUT ON A SUCCESSFUL BOOK FAIR. THE BOOK FAIR IS A FUN EVENT TO BE INVOLVED WITH. The Book Fair is not possible without wonderful parent volunteers! We need volunteers to help with working the cash register. CONFERENCE MEALS UPDATE

Thanks to all of the families that signed up to bring items for conference meals. Our teachers truly appreciate your donations! We have some openings with set up and clean up every day and refried beans on October 5. Please go HERE to see the openings or check out what you have signed up to bring.

We are so excited about having the Turkey Trot on Veterans Day this year! Thank you Martha Walker for chairing the 2016 Turkey Trot! We are looking for volunteers to help out with the 2016 Turkey Trot! Please contact Martha Walker if you are interested in helping out with our Veterans Day themed Turkey Trot! We have lots of volunteer opportunities!

Chili's Spirit Night Redo on Tuesday, October 4, 11 am - 10 pm

As many of you know, Monday's Spirit Event at Chili's did not go as planned. The restaurant had a water heater break and thus had to close the restaurant around noon. They have expressed their sincere apologies for this untimely event, and for not notifying us when it occurred. The PTO would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the families that attempted to dine at Chili's for this event, and we are so sorry for the inconvenience it likely caused! Chili's has agreed to reschedule our Spirit Event to this coming Tuesday, October 4. This will be an all day event, with Chili's donating 15% of generated sales, indicated by mentioning that you are there in support of Blue Mountain or by presenting the flyer. They have already collected school supplies that our school will receive, and they will continue to do so up through our event on Tuesday, giving away a coupon for free chips and salsa to whomever donates school supplies. Thank you so much for your support!

SCHOOL FUNDING MEETING THIS WEEK AT ALTONA on 10/6, 7-8 PM

"Grassroots St Vrain", a nonprofit group promoting informed decision-making on education funding, is coming to Altona this Thursday, 10/6, from 7:00-8:00pm. Their presentation and followup Q&A session are designed to explain the "big picture" of public school finance, and should illustrate the importance of a yes vote on this November's bond measure 3A.

The Blue Mountain PTO paid $2,055 for school-wide Earth Week activities in the 2015-2016 school year.
