Updates, Updates Everywhere!
Hopefully all of you have had a great start to the school year! Around here, we have been trying to get our heads wrapped around the massive amount of updates that occurred over the summer and are still continuing daily! I wanted to highlight a couple of them quickly for you to possibly look into yourself:
1. Apple released iOS 10 and with that ushered in the era of school.apple.com which allows your school to easily create and manage student/staff accounts for all of your Apple devices.
2. Another Apple related update is the creation of a teacher training site that allows you to gain digital credentials for showing proficiency in your Apple abilities. More info can be found at: appleteacher.apple.com
3. Google continues to update their services and has had a couple of notable changes.
- There is now parent access in Google Classroom via a summary report that they can opt-in to.
- Google Forms now has a dedicated quiz format to allow easy assessments and data analysis.
- Hangouts on Air is being phased out... However, they are encouraging everyone to use YouTube Live!
Those are the major changes for now but I am sure that tools will continue to evolve. Stay tuned to these emails to stay current!
Enjoy the fall weather!
- John
