LOVEbash

Our annual LOVEbash event was held Saturday, September 17th, in Seattle. The day was filled with cheers, a few tears, and the overwhelming generosity of so many!

From our wonderful host, David Rose, to our amazing sponsors, and incredible supporters both attending the event and donating from home, everyone pitched in to make the night a huge success. It was only our 2nd annual LOVEbash event, and your voices were heard, raising over $254,000 to help end animal cruelty!

With every donation, we get one step closer to our mission of ending animal cruelty. Whether caring for neglected and abandoned animals, helping law enforcement investigate crimes against animals, reducing the homeless pet population through spay and neuter, or providing education about how individuals can end animal suffering, our team continues to work tirelessly!

National Feral Cat Day

October 16th is National Feral Cat Day. Feral cats (or "Community Cats") are a result of abandoned domestic cats. They become "wild" and unsocialized as they try to survive without a family or home, multiplying in the natural landscape. TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) is a humane solution to care for these cats and stabilize the population. It is an effective alternative to trapping and euthanizing the cats at local shelters. Take a moment to learn more about TNR on Feral Cat Day!

Alternatives to Tethering

As the weather turns from warm to frigid, thousands of animals will be left out in the cold - tied up in the backyard on a leash or heavy chain. Tethered animals, especially dogs, are often not provided outdoor shelter, and can suffer pain and injuries due to weather exposure or other animal attacks. They often develop behavioral issues as a result. If you know someone who tethers their pet and may not be aware of the benefits of bringing their dog inside, learn more here

Compassion Day Success!

This small but extremely hard working and dedicated Microsoft team helped us clean and pack the 3 large cow barns full of warm, soft hay! The cows are very thankful for their new extra comfy beds, just in time for the cooler weather. This team also enjoyed a tour of the sanctuary where they met our wonderful residents. If you and your workplace want to schedule a visit and help the animals, learn more about our Compassion Days and how you can sign up here.

Athena: Ready for Home!

Athena is a gorgeous, outgoing cat. She is an older girl, but she hasn't slowed down a bit! She'll come running when you call her, even if she is in the middle of sunbathing. She loves to be around people and to cuddle with other cats (usually in one big pile!) She will do well in most homes and would prefer a cat companion in any home she is adopted into. If you would like to consider adopting Athena, please fill out an adoption questionnaire today!

A Happy "Tail" for Douglas!

Douglas, a wonderful and loving hound mix, has been adopted! This senior dog was always calm and happy at the sanctuary, especially around people. He often found the comfiest patches of grass and spent his days napping, soaking up the warm sun. With such a sweet disposition, it wasn't long until a family fell in love with this darling senior and took him home to be a part of their family. He now sleeps cozy on the couch, happy to be home. Congratulations Douglas!
