ANNUAL CONFERENCE UPDATE:
Dr. Deming wrote, “In my experience, most troubles and most possibilities for improvement add up to
proportions something like this: 94% belong to the system (the responsibility of management); 6% are
attributable to special causes.” The approach we are using to study the MLC Annual Conference feedback is based on theory that we, the Annual Conference Team members, are responsible for the system that produces the Annual Conference and that, we, rather than the individual presenters, are in the best position to make improvements to the system that will produce the 2017 Annual Conference.
All the feedback from surveys, flipcharts and word of mouth is being studied. We are creating affinity diagrams to group and prioritize the feedback then we will choose how to act upon the feedback.
We have already made some changes to our planning approach and will report back with further progress in each newsletter. Look for the 2017 theme to be announced soon and remember to hold the dates to come to Traverse City for the 7th annual conference: August 2-4, 2017!
