Chapter Spotlight:
Oklahoma State University Branch

The AMAZING ladies of the Oklahoma State University Branch held an event where members helped to make the components of kits for girls in developing countries.  These kits, filled with female hygiene products, are then sent to girls in developing nations to help them manage their periods, avoid absences due to their menstrual cycles, and stay in school.  In collaboration with international organization Days For Girls, they had 30 people cut 142 PUL shields, 46 fabric shields, trimmed 60 PUL corners, made 153 shield pockets, and helped a countless number of girls!!!

Great Job Oklahoma State University Branch!

Hilary Samuelson
Hilary is an M.D. candidate at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Healthcare Management from Emory University in 2011 and completed her pre-medical post-baccalaureate certificate at Hunter College in New York City.

Hilary’s research work during her post-bacc program inspired her to volunteer at Einstein’s student run clinic as a Women’s Health Patient Advocate, providing free women’s health care for the uninsured residents of the Bronx.

Hilary has also served as President of Einstein’s AMWA Chapter and Treasurer of the Ob/Gyn Interest Group. Her work with AMWA as the PATH Education Co-Chair of the Student Division, has led to a pilot research project to assess the most effective way to incorporate sex trafficking education in to medical school curricula.

She and the Region 2 team have worked to organize an AMAZING event and she is looking forward to seeing students there, at the upcoming Region 2 Conference to be held at Albert Einstein College of Medicine on Sunday, November 6th.
