Another Successful District Wide Beautification Day
The 4th Annual Back-To-School Beautification Day was held Saturday, October 1st at all 13 school sites. The weather was perfect as school and community members worked together to spruce up neighborhood schools. These are just a few pictures shared by SLHS, Wilson, Roosevelt, Garfield, Washington and the Adult School. Thanks again to Supervisor Wilma Chan for donating the pizza lunch, Coca Cola Refreshments for donating the water and SLED Board Member Peter Oshinski for the home made breakfast breads for each site! A big THANK YOU to the SLED Pizza Delivery Team, School Board Member Evelyn Gonzalez and SLED board members, Peter Oshinski and Juan Gonzalez.
Human Trafficking Forum-Keep Our Children Safe, October 13th
San Leandro Unified School District will present a program on Human Trafficking-Keep Our Children Safe for parents, teens and other interested persons on Thursday, October 13th. The event will be held at the theater in the Arts Education Center at San Leandro High School, 2250 Bancroft Avenue. The forum will consist of several speakers, including but not limited to the FBI and the San Leandro Police Department. A Question and Answer session will commence once all speakers have completed their segments.

Administrative "Superhero" Position Available with SLED
We are seeking a dynamic, independent and responsible individual who has a passion for public education and community building. SLED’s Administrative Assistant (aka Administrative Superhero) is responsible for a broad range of tasks including providing administrative, operational, and program support to the Executive Director, other staff and Board of Directors. This is a 30 to 40 hour per week position, has flexible hours (occasional weekends and nights) and is a great start for a recent college graduate. Sounds like something you'd be interested in? Great! SL Sports Foundation Hall of Fame Enshrinement-Oct 14th
The San Leandro Sports Foundation will hold the first ever Sports Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony on Friday, October 14th. The event begins at the Net Zero Energy Center, 14600 Catalina Ave in San Leandro at 4:00 pm where the 14 members of this year's Hall of Fame class will be introduced and presented with their plaques. Next on to Burrell Field where the inductees will be introduced before the Pirate Homecoming Football Game. At half time, inductees will gather for the unveiling of the new Hall of Fame Wall for a group picture. You don't want to miss out on this inaugural event, recognizing our homegrown sports stars while supporting school sports programs. Tickets can be purchased on line at slsfi.org for $40.00. The price includes the pre-game event with hors d'oeuvres and a no host bar as well as entrance to the Pirate Football Game. Come on out and be a part of San Leandro History while supporting sports in our San Leandro Schools.
