The Disconnect to Reconnect Issue
View this email in your browser
Dear <<First Name>>

Last Thursday we celebrated World Heart Day and we took part in a simple challenge, the challenge was to put away our smart devices and I challenge you all to have a go at it. Our increasing reliance on technology is growing and it’s important to take time out of your day and disconnect from those devices and take a moment to reconnect with friends, family or make time for yourself. Everyone including myself is spending more time on electronic devices even just before bed, interrupting our sleep patterns. I was up for the challenge, are you?

There are many added benefits to disconnecting from technology; it encourages us to reconnect with others, which decreases feelings of loneliness. Loneliness increases the risk of a heart attack by 29 per cent. It is natural to feel lonely however when it is over long periods, it can have a big impact on your heart. Below our feature article, gives some handy tips on how to beat loneliness.

In addition, the MeetUp App is a great app that allows you to join many different groups with likeminded people and share similar interests, why not try it out.

Lastly we are very excited to announce that our website is getting a new ‘Makeover’ courtesy of Kereni White from Whitesites, we are loving the fresh new look, so keep a lookout.

Warmest wishes
