Attention!
With the threat of hurricane Matthew looming on the horizon, we want to let you know there may be the possibility of the Temple closing Friday and through the weekend. Seminole County schools have already announced they're shutting down for Thursday and Friday.
We're tracking the storm along with you and will announce what our plan will be once we have more information. We ask everyone to please take the proper precautions.
- Be prepared with up to three days worth of food and water.
- Have plenty of candles, matches/lighters, batteries, flashlights,
and a radio.
- Have a designated shelter location mapped out.
L'Shalom,
Your Temple Leadership
This Friday, October 7, it's a Simcha Shabbat, where we will honor those with anniversaries and birthdays in October. Followed by a tasty Oneg with delicious cake and Israeli Dancing! The service starts at 7:30 pm.
After Simcha Shabbat, move your feet to your old favorites as we dance during Oneg!
Please join us at Temple Israel Cemetery for our annual community memorial service. Members of the congregation will be invited to stand at the graveside of their deceased loved ones, and Rabbi Joshua Neely will recite individual memorial prayers in their honor.
Monday, October 10, at 7:00 pm, come and enjoy a great game of Texas Hold‘em, Omaha, Razz, Stud and more (or learn how!).
Refreshments will be available and it all goes down in the Lounge. When you arrive, enter through the front of the temple. All are welcome!
Sponsored by Temple Israel’s Men’s Club. Questions? Please call Wayne Bilsky at (407) 539-2705.

Yom Kippur Community Memorial Service
On Yom Kippur Day, starting at 4:30 pm, High Holiday services at Temple Israel will be open to the community (no tickets required) beginning with the afternoon prayer service of Mincha. All prayer services will be held in the main sanctuary.
Following Mincha at 6:00 pm will be a community memorial service at which time all are invited to remember in prayer loved ones who are no longer with us. This service will also recall those who have perished throughout the ages. In addition, there will be a special remembrance for the victims of the Pulse massacre.
