Mercer County District Library News


Margaret Peterson Haddix to Visit Library

Ohio author, Margaret Peterson Haddix is going to visit the Mercer County District Library in Celina on Monday, October 17 at 6 pm. She will be giving a presentation about her books. Her most recent book Children of Exile was published in September.

Ms. Haddix written more than 35 books for kids and teens, including Running Out of Time; Don’t You Dare Read This, Mrs. Dunphrey; Leaving Fishers; the Shadow Children series; the Missing series; the Children of Exile series; and The Palace Chronicles. She also wrote Into the Gauntlet, the tenth book in the 39 Clues series.  Her books have been honored with New York Times bestseller status, the International Reading Association’s Children’s Book Award; American Library Association Best Book and Quick Pick for Reluctant Young Adult Readers notations; and numerous state reader’s choice awards.

Celina Main Street Walking Tour

We’ll explore the architecture and anecdotes of the beautiful historic homes on Celina’s North Main Street on Thursday, October 20. You’ve driven by them and wondered about the people who built them...come and learn more about Celina’s most historic street.

Tour begins at 6 p.m. at the library and will proceed northward to Touvelle Street and back.

Suggested donation: $10 Space is limited. Registration is required online or by calling 419-586-4442. Registration deadline: October 17.

All donations will go towards the Friends of the Library.
