          Noon dismissal for Thanksgiving!

Dear Parents, Guardians, Alumni, Parishioners, and Friends of Assumption-St. Bridget School,
I hope this finds you enjoying the lovely Seattle fall days!  This Thursday, we look forward to hosting our first Open House event of the year.  These events are proving to be highly effective in recruitment of new families and students to ASB.  You are key to the success!  My sincere thanks to all of the current parents and students who are helping in any capacity with this event:  from sign posting, to greeting that day as Parent Ambassadors, to sharing the good news of ASB to prospective families, to our Student Ambassadors that will be leading all of our tours on Thursday.  It should be a showcase event!  Thank you as well to the leadership of Director of Marketing and Admissions, Kelley Kane!
As a traffic reminder, it is vital that you avoid turning east onto NE 62nd  Street at drop off and pick up time!  It appears this is really causing a lot of back ups.  Please use an alternative route or park and walk to greet your child.  We also strongly encourage car-pooling, walking, biking and bus riding whenever possible.  Thank you for your help with this.
You will soon be receiving information via Skyward prompting you to sign up for your child(ren)’s fall parent/teacher/student conference.  ASB will hold these on October 27-28.  We look forward to seeing all parents at this time and appreciate you putting this time aside as a priority.
We need your help as parents and guardians to help all students remember their PE shoes on their designated PE days.  We are already finding large scratch marks across the floor.  We can only control so much, but having clean athletic shoes is one way to really help preserve the floor and investment made for such a nice athletic surface.  Let's all do our part to keep the new floor looking nice!
On Monday, October 17, we will hold an all-school Prayer Service in honor of the Virgin Mary, as October and May are designated as Marian months.  All are welcome to join the student body in Assumption Parish at 1:20 p.m.  Families are encouraged to pray the rosary, Hail Mary, and other Marian prayers this month at home.

In Christ’s peace,
Christina Vierra McGill

Thank you to all of our families who participated in the First Annual Scriptember!

This event was extremely successful! We sold over $47,000 in scrip during Scriptember, which is more than double what we typically sell during this same period. Most exciting, we had over 40 FAMILIES start brand new monthly standing orders over $250! FREE DRESS coupons will go home in your Wednesday envelope.

Congratulations to Heidi Pouley’s class in 6B! Mrs. Pouley’s class sold the highest amount of weekly scrip during Scriptember and will win a DONUT party!

The class that had the highest percentage (79%) of students participating in a monthly standing order was Chris Eusebio’s 3A class; they win a PIZZA party!

Even though Scriptember has come to an end, we encourage you to find new ways for your family to use scrip -- home improvement, vacations, end-of-season coaches’ gifts, ski and sports equipment, auction donations, date nights, etc.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Thank you to every ASB Parent & Student who has helped recruit new families to our Open House event! Despite the miserable forecast for tomorrow, ASB will be ready to shine tomorrow! Student-led tours begin at 9:30am, followed by an information session led by Mrs. McGill in the Assumption Parish Fellowship Hall. All are welcome!

A special thank you goes out to the members of ASB's Green Team, for cleaning up the flower beds in front of the school yesterday. Shrubs were pruned and leaves were raked -- just in time for all our visitors tomorrow! Thanks also to Michelle Constantino for providing the yard equipment and Ms. Bellusci for leading the volunteers!
