God speaks in depths of difficult times. We believe the ‘Flood of 2016’ was prophetic of things to come. God did something in that flood. Something that none of us were expecting. He, in a fresh way, united a group of people, grew them deeper, and Inspired life in a community, all through a Flood. We believe that He is calling us deeper this fall. Deeper in our relationships, deeper in faith, deeper in our giving, deeper in our service.

Let's step into all that God has for us.

WATCH ONLINE TEACHINGS

Are you new to Southgate? Would you like to learn more about the ins & outs of why we do things the way we do? Unite 101 is an hour long class led by the Pastors where you will have the opportunity to hear about the purpose of Southgate, how to get involved and ask any questions you might have.

KIDVILLE

OCTOBER

This month we’ll take a look at some everyday heroes from the Old Testament, men and women who had no superpowers except for the fact that they knew God had a mission for them and they trusted in His promise to always be with them. We can’t wait to hear how God shows up in the lives of families and kids when they study these stories, trust God, and show courage in the situations they face.

We need our children to understand, because they believe and trust in God, they have a unique source of strength and courage. There will be times when we’re going to be afraid. But we can trust in a God that is bigger than us. And put our hope in a God who is with us and is in control of every situation. Because of God, we can find the strength to be courageous, every day heroes.

"Be strong and brave. Do not be afraid. Do not lose hope. I am the Lord your God. I will be with you everywhere you go"

We had a fantastic launch of Kidville Grow! We are pumped for the opportunity to connect with kids during the week to build relationships, grow in what God is teaching us, and have fun! We have great leaders giving their time to lead small groups. If you know someone who would like to join, sign up on the website.
The kids at Grow get to work together towards awards (and treats and prizes are involved!), through things like
- Bringing a friend
- Memorizing verses
- Helping with Inspire projects
- Praying
- Participating in music
- Treating others the way you want to be treated
- Making the wise choice

If you'd like to jump in to Inspiring life here at Southgate through serving the kids and families, let's find where you fit! There are plenty of opportunities to serve in this way! Contact Lindsay

KIDVILLE GROW REGISTRATION

In PK Place, we're going to "A Roaring Rescue," the story of Daniel in the lions' den, on the Bible App for Kids, and looking at the question, "What do you say when you're afraid?" Our answer for our preschoolers and kinders is, "Goodbye, fear! God is here!"

YOUNG ADULTS

We are so stoked for what is going on at Young Adults right now. If you have a young adult between the ages of 18-25 and would like them get connected to the local church -Southgate is the place for them! The Young Adults leaders desire is to show this generation Jesus and the transforming power that comes from getting to know Him.

Every Monday we meet here at the church from 7-9p. We’d love to see more and more of this generation be on fire for Jesus.

We are super encouraged that 4 new young adults have stepped up to serve here at the church. We are pumped that God is taking us deeper and that one got baptized this month!
We are also celebrating that Evana has decided to unite her life with Jesus and has put the first light in the auditorium UNITE sign.

LIFEGROUPS

GROW LIFE

Things have kicked off to a super strong start here and LifeGroups and the great news is we still have room for you. We believe so strongly in these LifeGroups and believe it is so vital that in the life of the church as we go deeper together.

We are so excited that we have 2 brand new groups launching with 3 leaders that have never led a small group before. God is raising up new leaders in the church and is empowering them to do great things!

A special note: We are starting up a singles LifeGroup on Wednesday nights!! If you are interested in joining this please shoot us and email or call the office.

Work involves cutting, splitting, stacking and delivering firewood to families in need.
Need for chainsaws, wood splitters, dump trailer for deliveries.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Boxes will be available throughout OCTOBER at our NEXT STEPS booth in the lobby.

Collection date is November 13th

Apple pie time is here again!

Community Christian School in Metcalfe will be making home-made apple pies and crisps on October 14 & 15 . Volunteers are needed, snacks and lunch are provided.

MONTHLY MAGAZINE If there is something you would like to have included in the monthly “Need To Know” magazine, it is necessary to have it submitted to Tanys no later than the 20th of the month.

WANTED: Your empty pop cans. Place them in the blue barrel outside the front of the Church. Money collected when they are cashed will be donated to Missions.
