ANNOUNCEMENTS

RSVP Now for our Fall Kickoff Event:
Men as Advocates for Women's Leadership and the Modern Workplace

SAIS Global Women in Leadership is excited to announce our 2016-2017 academic year kickoff event, "Expanding the Conversation: Men as Advocates for Women's Leadership and the Modern Workplace on Tuesday, October 11 from 6:00 - 7:30 PM. The discussion will feature NYT Bestselling Author Brigid Schulte; McKinsey partner and leader of McKinsey's women's sponsorship initiative, Mark McMillan; and Brian Glenn, Middle East Policy Director at the Department of Defense. Gwen Young, Director of the Global Women’s Leadership Initiative and Women in Public Service Project at the Wilson Center, will moderate.

Studies show that higher numbers of women in professional leadership benefit employees across an organization. But, advancing women to positions of leadership requires active support from everyone – not only women. Therefore, SAIS Global Women in Leadership invites all individuals, regardless of gender, to join us for a panel discussion addressing how men can serve as advocates and allies for a more equitable, modern workplace. Panelists will discuss why men also gain from a work culture that is more conducive to women's advancement. They will also address diverse strategies that support women's leadership and a better workplace for everyone, including professional sponsorship, parental leave, flexible work policies, and dual-career household management. The panel will include an audience Q&A segment. Reception to follow.

Event Information:
Tues, October 11th, 6:00 - 7:30 PM, with a cocktail reception to follow
Rome Auditorium, SAIS, 1619 Massachusetts Ave NW
