The Mighty, Fructifying River of Nonviolence

Sunday was Gandhi’s 147th birthday. As I wrote over the weekend, we should always fortify ourselves with good news before moving on to deal with, well, the majority.

In that vein: the beta version of our web-based science resource is ready! Soon, our site visitors will be able to explore new developments by scientific discipline and (still under construction) by nonviolence topic. We remain committed to the urgent need for activists and change agents to be “New Story literate,” and for us the two tributaries of that mighty river are modern science and ancient wisdom. Let us know if you’d like to give the beta a lookover and share your thoughts.

Thanks to our longtime friend Abraham Entin for organizing Friday’s “Party With a Purpose” fundraiser for the Metta Center. What an outpouring of local support! The event also brought new faces to Hope Tank, our antidote to think tanks (why not start your own Hope Tank?).

Lastly, we continue to work with Nonviolent Peaceforce and other unarmed intervention groups to help the protectors of Standing Rock. More on that later...

Onward and upward,
Michael Nagler, Founder & President
