New Trailhead Kiosks

If you've visited our Mariaville Falls Preserve, Schoodic Bog Preserve, or Taft Point Preserve recently, you may have noticed a new addition at the trailhead: a kiosk! Thanks to the hard work of our seasonal environmental steward, Jake Manning, FBC has installed three new kiosks this season and has a fourth one in the works. At these kiosks you will find take home maps and a sign in sheet with room for comments, questions, or concerns. This is our chance to hear from you! When you visit, be sure to sign in and leave any additional thoughts on the sheet provided. And, if you see Jake, give him a high five for a job well done!

Fall Hike Series

Frenchman Bay Conservancy, in conjunction with the Downeast Senior College, has been celebrating
Great Maine Outdoor Weekend with our Fall Hike Series throughout September and October. So far, FBC volunteers have led three hikes as part of the series: the first at our Salt Pond Preserve in Hancock, the second at our Taft Point Preserve in Gouldsboro, and the third at our Corea Heath Preserve in Corea.

There's still time for you to join us! The last hike of the series is happening this Saturday, October 8th at our
Frances B. Wood Preserve in Gouldsboro at 9:30 am. All hikes are free and open to the public, and are easy to moderate to accommodate a wide range of ability levels. We hope to see you there.
The Lamoine 5th grade science class had a great time identifying trees along FBC's Simon Trail in Lamoine in early September.
