Community Conversation for Bethune and Charlotte

The City of Peterborough is currently planning the redevelopment of these streets to reduce flood risks and support active transportation. Some exciting alternative streetscape designs have been offered, and local community organizations - including GreenUP, B!KE, Active Neighbourhoods Peterborough, and P-BAC - want to support meaningful community engagement around this critical opportunity.

The proposed designs will be posted in the window at B!KE this week, and we hope you will join us for a drop-in conversation about this project on Friday October 7th between noon and 5pm. Representatives from the project team will be at B!KE to join the discussion from noon until 2pm.

Car Free Wednesdays is Back for another School Year

Active and Safe Routes to School Peterborough is excited to kick off another year of Car Free Wednesdays.

Building a little active transportation into the day is a great way to increase daily physical activity levels and decrease traffic congestion in the school zone. Parents, teachers and students involved in our programs remark students arrive to school more alert and ready to learn.

Kids can choose to walk, bike, roll or bus to school on Car Free Wednesdays. Visit peterboroughmoves.com for program materials and details.
Peterborough By Bike with Sue Sauve,

You will also learn of upcoming projects bound to make Peterborough even more bike-friendly. The rides will be approximately 1-hour long at an easy pace with frequent stops.

Rides will run Fridays,
Oct. 7, Oct.14, Oct. 21, Oct. 28 from 12-1PM

Rides begin at City Hall (500 George St. N.)
