GRIP Graduation Keynote Address
Luis Sosa @ Mule Creek State Prison

Every now and then it happens. Probably more frequently than you think. I am talking about being initiated into someone's brilliance when you least expect it. Sometimes (even rarer) you get to have a front seat, witnessing that dormant gift as it finds the light, right in front of your eyes…

New National Public Radio series,
“BoundBreakers,” highlights the GRIP Program

New NPR series featuring individuals who have made a difference

From the NPR website: "At a time when political rhetoric dominates the news, these are people who, despite having no official elected power, have found a way to solve a problem, change a system or inspire others," said Tracy Wahl, Executive Producer. "We call these people 'Boundbreakers' — people who break through a boundary to make change."

NPR reporters Peter Breslow and Rachel Martin spent a day inside San Quentin to witness, first hand, the GRIP Program.

GRIP Program Graduates Inmates:
San Quentin, Avenal and Mule Creek

We have doubled the amount of men we serve this year, from 135 to 270 prisoners and we intend to expand more to serve more people. Many of these men and women are in remote and underserved prisons.

The GRIP Program has graduated five Tribes this summer from its year-long program at San Quentin, Avenal and Mule Creek state prisons.
