Annual Elections: Your Chance to get Involved
Do you love our neighborhood? Do you wish that you could take a more active role in making Underwood Hills an even better place to live?
Well, good news: the UHNA elections are right around the corner. On November 14, we’ll be hosting our annual elections.
We need to fill two executive committee roles this year: President and Treasurer.
Kristin and Ryan have each served three years in these roles and are ready to pass the torch. Both are staying involved and will be able to help in the background. While one person is officially elected for each position, we encourage people to get involved in the sub-committees (there are over 10 sub-committees!), as many of the steering
committee positions are best handled by a few people. Click here for a full list of positions.
With a little time from some great neighbors, we can continue to ensure Underwood Hills is a great place to live!

Security Patrol Monthly Tip: Solicitors
Most people who drive through the neighborhood or knock on our door are not dangerous, but it’s important to remember what to do should you notice any suspicious activity. Simply call 911, state your name, address, and provide the operator with the witnessed activity. Tell the operator that we have been instructed to do this by the APD to thwart would-be criminals in our area.

Underwood Hills Park: Join Us for Two Improvement Projects
Underwood Hills Park now has more usable space! When Georgia Power removed the power lines and the electrical tower, we gained more space to play, grow trees, and enjoy the great outdoors. October is a great month for the park, and we are hosting two improvement projects. Please join us:
- Neighborhood Park Volunteer Day - Oct. 22, 9am-12noon – We need your help! If you can spend an hour, you can help a lot. Trees Atlanta is partnering with us to supply and plant over 200 plants that will help stop the erosion of the stream corridor and forested area the week before. Our partners from Georgia Tech, the women of Omega Phi Alpha, will join us for the 10th year. Please come out to pitch in and support our neighborhood green space.
- Trees Atlanta PlantLanta – Oct. 15, 9am-12noon – Trees Atlanta chose UH Park for the District 9 PlantLanta location, and will plant over 200 trees throughout our park. This planting ensures the long-term health of our tree canopy. Trees Atlanta has not requested volunteers for this event, but you can stop by and say thank you while they are planting. Thanks, Trees Atlanta!

Teen Park Committee: Receives City of Atlanta Approval
Hello neighbors!! It’s Mia from the Teen Park Committee. We have met with the city and received approval for the outdoor exercise equipment and a bid of $4,800 from an approved vendor. Park Pride chose us for a $2,400 matching grant. We are working hard to raise $2,400 to receive the full match.
A big thank you to our first donor, Crossfit North Atlanta, you guys rock!! We have also received donations from Anytime Fitness, other local businesses, and the Underwood Hills Neighborhood Association. We have raised a total of $750. Please let me know if you’d like to donate or help us raise funds. You can make a tax deductible donation through Park Pride - simply select Underwood Hills Park from the drop down list and type "Teen Committee" in the Tribute Name
We are planning an engraved brick fundraising campaign and will send out more information on that soon.

Playgroup: Halloween Party at the Park
Join us Sunday, October 30 from 4-6PM for some Halloween fun with the family. We’ll have a costume contest for the kids (fur babies included), pumpkin painting and beer for adults!
Bring a snack to share and we'll provide paper goods, waters, and juice.
