In This Issue: Kicking For Kids: Soccer Camp Saves Trafficked Children
Soccer Camp Fundraiser
When Maddie Beirne, a senior at Walter Payton College Prep in Chicago, Illinois, found out about Right To Be Free's work to save trafficked children, she wanted to do something to help. She created Kicking For Kids, a soccer camp to raise awareness of child trafficking in Ghana and to raise funds to support our work. The Walter Payton Girls Varsity Soccer Team organized and ran the three day soccer camp this past August.

The camp welcomed participants ranging in age from 5 to 13 and all skill levels. From 9 am to 3 pm during each day of the camp, the kids had fun learning how to improve their soccer proficiency.

The camp participants also enjoyed craft activities which included writing and decorating letters to rescued children to show their support.
Camp participants learned new soccer skills from varsity players Fiona (left) and Maddie (right).
Maddie and the Walter Payton Girls Varsity Soccer Team are exemplary role models and great examples of our youth making a real difference. When they learned about child trafficking, they decided to use their soccer talents to create a fun camp for kids and raise funds to free enslaved children. Their soccer camp illustrates how local community service can reach across continents to improve the lives of at risk children living in a developing country with scarce resources.
We are very grateful and honored to partner with these amazing high school students. Their parents must be very proud to have raised such compassionate individuals who care about global issues and are personally taking a stand against the exploitation of vulnerable children. The funds they raised will directly support the freedom and education of trafficked children, who in turn, will go on to make their mark on the world.
If you are interested in following their example to raise funds to support the rescue of trafficked children, contact Lori Dillon.
