Next Neighborhood Meeting: Annual Elections + Upper Westside Development Plans
Please join us this November 14, for our next neighborhood meeting at Red Brick Brewery. We’ll be hosting our annual elections and are still looking for awesome neighbors to fill a few positions (see list below). In addition, McKittrick Simmons from Sweetwater Holdings will present information about their projects on Defoor Hills and their overall vision for the Upper Westside.
Below is a list of positions with neighbors who have expressed interest in those positions; some of these may shift a little prior to elections as a few folks are still deciding where they want to contribute their time and talents. The good news is, we almost have a full slate. The not so good news is, we still need a fearless leader! While one person is officially elected for each position, we encourage people to get involved in the sub-committees (there are over 10 sub-committees!), as many of the steering
committee positions are best handled by a few people. Click here for a full list of positions with descriptions.

Security Patrol: Fundraising Goal Achieved!
Great work from the neighborhood to help us achieve our fundraising goal! A big thank you to all who joined, canvassed the neighborhood, and assisted with the delivery of Patrol signs to homes. We are still actively seeking more neighbors to join so that we may hire additional shifts from our Patrol officers. More shifts mean more coverage contributing to our overall safety, increased home values, and sense of security. Of course, the Patrol is only one way to improve security in our area: being vigilant and mindful of your surroundings, calling 911 when you see something/someone suspicious, and being street smart about your home and car by doing things like installing good lighting and removing EVERYTHING from your car are other ways to prevent theft.

Crime & Safety Updates
Councilmember Felicia Moore's legislation to install 14 security cameras in District 9 was approved by Atlanta City Council. The legislation authorizes payment from her District 9 carry forward account to the Atlanta Police Foundation for the installation, maintenance, and operation of security cameras in the city's right-of-way within District 9. Specifically, within Underwood Hills, we will see the addition of a camera at Underwood Hills Park (at Harper and Ridgeway). The full press release and list of locations can be found here.
The Riverside Neighborhood Association is hosting the Upper Westside Public Safety Meet and Greet on Sunday, December 4th from 3:00-5:00 PM at B's Cracklin BBQ on Main Street in Riverside.

Playgroup: Halloween Party at the Park
We had an awesome Halloween party at the park thrown by our fabulous Play Group chair, Macayla Peterson. There was plenty of food, thanks to DAS BBQ and our neighbors, awesome costumes, and lots of fun had. Big thanks to our Station 23 Firefighters for coming out and taking on the difficult job of judging our costume contest. For more pictures, check out our Facebook page.
