Bendigo Excursion
Last Friday students from Years 3 & 4 travelled to Bendigo to the Science & Discovery Centre and also the Central Deborah Mine.  The weather was perfect and the students and teachers all had a fantastic day.

We went on an excursion to Bendigo on Friday to see a gold mine. We went twenty six storeys down and a man showed us the way down. We saw gold and then we saw the machines they use. Next we headed back up to the top and I said “ thank goodness”.  We had a BBQ lunch and an ice-cream at the park. After that we went to the Discovery Centre. I had a go in the Mirror Maze, it was hard. Then we went back to Mooroopna.

Our trip to Bendigo.
On Friday the 14th the grade three’s and four’s went to Bendigo for an excursion. We stopped and had recess and then we went to the mine. We had lunch near Mr King’s school. After lunch we went for a walk in a rainforest. We went up the poppet head. We had fun at the Discovery Centre.

Wellbeing News
Hello friends, I have been noticing just how thoughtful children often are, thinking of caring actions and words they can offer as gifts to each other, and enjoying the responses they receive. At school there is lots of laughter as students play and enjoy each other's company.

Children's thoughtful ideas can surprise us. When visiting relatives before the AFL grand final I read in the paper about a boy who had sent a letter with 20c to his favourite football hero hoping to let him know he was needed in the Footscray team, at a time when another team wanted him. His words and gift were indeed appreciated. The player stayed. The happy ending was being retold now the boy has become an adult.

Keep looking out for everyday opportunities to encourage our children's generous and thoughtful words and actions. We have so much to make us proud as we celebrate the little things which turn into the big things. These caring character traits are to be enjoyed and praised. Well done students!

See you around,

Ros

Weekly eSmart Tip
Cyberbullying:
Children and young people are online all the time, and while there are many great benefits of being online, there are also risks. Cyberbullying is the use of technology to bully an individual or a group with the intent to cause harm. The intended harm may be social, psychological and, in extreme cases, physical. It may be abusive texts and emails, hurtful messages, images or videos, imitation, exclusion and nasty gossip and chat. Cyberbullying can cause fear, withdrawal, shame, guilt, loneliness or depression. If your child is being cyberbullied you can: talk about cyberbullying before it happens and work out strategies, avoid responding, collect the evidence, block the bully by changing privacy settings and report the abuse to the social media service, police or school.
