Welcome to our Autumn Newsletter

We are delighted to present our Autumn Newsletter. We've been busy as usual and we're excited to share with you our growth since our last newsletter in July.

To break down Prism's growth since July '16, we've seen:

  • 16 new collective funds. These are groups of people who raise money under Prism's charitable umbrella as an alternative to setting up a standalone charitable vehicle

  • 3 new individual Donor Advised Funds (DAF). DAFs are a cost effective and time efficient alternative for philanthropists who aren't interested in setting up their own trust or foundation.

Event Invitation | 9th November

On the 9th of November, we are holding an event with three of our largest Collective Fund clients, Help RefugeesRaise Your Hands and Alexander Haus.

The evening will focus on the outstanding work that these funds carry out, whilst exploring the ways of modernising the charity sector through the Collective Fund service that we offer. By opening a Collective Fund and outsourcing your administration to Prism, you can focus on what matters most on the ground. Our charity experts handle all the back office work involved with running your charity and ensure your organisation is operating alongside UK charitable law. A guest speaker from each organisation will be explaining their relationship with Prism and how they’ve been able to operate with minimum overheads and maximum impact.

This is not one to miss! The evening is kindly being hosted by Mishcon de Reya and sponsored by Close Brothers Asset Management.

For more information and to register your interest for the event, please email Camilla at camilla@prismthegiftfund.co.uk

See below for more details. We hope to see you on the evening!

Prism the Gift Fund & ActionAid Event - Guest Speaker: Ian Hislop

Once a year, one of our donors kindly hosts an evening in support of their chosen charity and their Donor Advised Fund provider, Prism the Gift Fund. This year was in association with ActionAid, who work to fight extreme poverty across the world. Our guest speaker, Ian Hislop, gave a fascinating talk on his favourite philanthropists, including Angela Burdett-Coutts, Lord Shaftesbury and closing with a quote from Andrew Carnegie, 'The man who dies rich, dies disgraced'.

It was an extremely inspiring evening and we were joined by some of the UK's most prolific philanthropists. We would like to thank everyone involved in organising such a great evening.

BT Tower Dining Club

This October, Prism were kindly gifted a table at BT's  charity fundraising 'Dining Club'. We enjoyed an evening with amazing entertainment and fantastic food on the 32nd floor of London's iconic BT Tower. Prism use the donation platform, BT MyDonate, for all of our clients. This is a fantastic free service which enables millions of pounds to flow into the third sector every single year.
