Free and Low Cost Assistive Technology of the Week

Simple Switch (All)

This week something a little different. This week we provide instructions on how to build a simple single switch that a person with a physical disability could use to operate a communication device or a PC with a suitable interface.

The design and instructions come from the amazing website by Barrie Ellis at oneswitch.org.uk.

These are useful wherever it is difficult to buy and impart small hardware devices and they would be perfect for anyone to construct for personal use, or if an NGO or charity you might be able to get students or local engineers to do this for you.

Do test your build before you use it and make sure that all your wiring and soldering is done correctly.

Full details of the switch design and instructions can be found at
