Thank-you Kristi & welcome Colleen!

We want to wish Kristi Tatebe farewell and good luck! Her and her family relocated to Summerland at the beginning of September because her husband got a new job there, and to be closer to her family. We wish the whole family a fantastic new life in the Okanagan! Kristi's contribution to and passion for he EGP will be missed - thank you Kristi!

Colleen MacDonald is the new manager of the EGP. Colleen was raised on the North Shore and continues to call this beautiful part of our city home.  She is a passionate plant-lover and her career has been rooted in horticulture, nature, and our environment.  For many years she owned and operated her own landscaping business with a focus on sustainable design and water-wise gardening.  She carried this experience into the floral industry with her own flower shop.  Colleen spends much of her spare time in her Fraser Valley garden where she grows vegetables and ornamentals using earth friendly techniques.  She is thrilled about the position and looks forward to working with such an inspiring group who have made the Edible Garden Project such a growing success. Welcome Colleen!

A peak of what's on in the gardens this month!

Teach students how to grow food, and have fun in the garden. We teach over 800 students in schools across the North Shore each year in monthly lessons from September to June, and we need your help to make the gardens come alive! The EGP School Garden program is a hand-ons, interactive educational program bringing students in grades K-7 out of the classroom and into the garden.

Interested Volunteers: Attend the orientation on October 20th! Attending the orientation is not a commitment to volunteering, but if you'd like to work with students in our school gardens, please attend.

When: Thursday October 20,10:00am-12:30pm
Where: Loutet Farm, North Vancouver
