From the President's Boat
Most of us pull into a landing to fish really don’t take notice and don’t think twice about the other people around other than possibly that you want to beat them to the boat ramp, to the better parking spot, etc. There has been a rash of vandalism at the boat ramps in the Twin Cities including Forest Lake landings #2 and #3. One of our own Members had his two catalytic converters cut off his truck even though the lot was full while he fished our Jim Shannon Tournament while parked at Forest Lake landing #3 resulting in an unpleasant surprise to the tune of $3,000 when he got off the lake at noon. I ask that you be more vigilant the next time you’re going fishing and pay notice to people wandering around the landing, those possibly under vehicle or boat as to what they are really doing. If you see something strange don’t be afraid to approach and ask them a question or call the police to investigate. You may be saving a fellow fisherman or even yourself an unpleasant surprise when you leave the lake.
Cold weather is upon us so please practice on the water safety. Wear your personal floatation device and have the proper safety equipment in your boat. All it takes is one unfortunate incident to have regrets and sorrow for a lifetime.
It is important for you to Exercise your right to VOTE in the November General Election for the best candidate in all crucial races including District 31B that includes East Bethel, Ham Lake, Linwood, Columbus Townships and parts of Oak Grove and Andover. Some of the races have very difficult choices but remember not voting is a choice in itself and by doing so you allow a smaller group of others to make the decision for you in the Local, State and National elections. Everyone’s vote is important as we have seen in the past some state elections decided by only a few hundred votes. Please VOTE in November! You can go to this website to confirm what district you are in and who represents you in all elections. Who Represents Me?
