Board of Education Mourns The Loss Of

 Board President, Vince Rosato

The San Leandro Education Foundation joins others in the San Leandro Community in mourning the passing of Vince Rosatto, President of the San Leandro Board of Education.  The following was shared with the community by the San Leandro Unified School District:

"We are saddened to announce the passing of Board of Education President Vince J. Rosato. Mr. Rosato was a dedicated educator with a passion for public service.

“Vince cared about making a difference in public schools and that showed through his work both here in San Leandro, in Alameda County, and across the state,” said San Leandro Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Mike McLaughlin. “This is a huge loss for our district and we send our heartfelt condolences to his widow, Usha.”
Mr. Rosato was elected as a trustee to the San Leandro Unified School District Board of Education in 2012. In addition to serving as President of SLUSD’s Board of Education, Mr. Rosato was also the Treasurer of the Alameda County School Boards Association. Before retiring from teaching, Mr. Rosato taught in the New Haven Unified School District where he served as a CTA State and National delegate.

The October 11, 2016 Board of Education Meeting will be adjourned in memory of Mr. Rosato."
