The Congressional Study Group on Japan celebrates Golden Week 2016
Greetings from Wisconsin! A special InBrief coming to you from the Badger State, where we've spent the last week convening the Battleground Study Tour in partnership with Atlantik-Brücke

Americans and foreign observers alike tend to think of American presidential campaigns as national elections, but in truth the winner in 2016 will likely depend on who gains the greatest number of Electoral College votes in a small number of "battleground" states. The Battleground Study Tour is an experiential program, which immerses a high-level delegation of German federal and state government officials, business leaders, and top journalists in the issues, candidates, and politics of the American electoral system on a local and regional level -- all in a part of the country they might not traditionally visit.
