This Week at the Museum

October 12, 2016

Celebration

We Friends of the Museum gathered Saturday at the State Botanical Garden for our annual Celebration, including a silent auction, an excellent dinner served by The Last Resort catering, and a marvelous after-dinner talk by MIT science writer and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Deborah Blum.

We celebrated, indeed, with the inauguration of the Murray and Ann Blum Fund. The Fund will support education activities at the Museum, including support of undergraduates as they learn curatorial techniques. You may contribute to the Blum fund from our website — http://www.gmnhfriends.org/make-a-donation/

Thanks to all Friends and their guests for your participation and support of our organization. And special thanks to Gisela Gresham, Lanie Barlow, Mary Freeman, and Paige Cummings for making it all happen.

Nature Ramblers

All Friends are welcome to accompany the Nature Ramblers and see what’s happening in the Botanical Garden. Meet leader Dale Hoyt on Thursday, 10/13/16, at 8:30 a.m. at the Arbor by the lower parking lot. Dale says, “If you have a reading to share with the group please remember to bring a typewritten copy or a link to an internet source. Make sure you give it to the leader!"
