Missions Celebration Coming November 14

BGCO Women

For many Oklahomans, missions and taking the Gospel to the world begins with finding forever homes for children through foster care and adoption. Attend this year's Missions Celebration and discover how your church and you can be part of impacting God's kingdom right here in our state. Whether you see yourself as someone who could provide a home or you can provide support to families in your local church, this celebration and symposium is for every person who loves children.

Monday, November 14 * 2-4:30 p.m.
Quail Springs Baptist Church * 14613 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73134
Chapel (former Worship Center)

Special Guest Speaker: James Hunt, pastor of Guthrie, First Southern and his wife, Ali, are adoptive parents of four children. The Hunts are convinced of the heavenly Father's love for them and for children who come from hurt places. He is the founder of the Karis Adoption Fund, which helps offset the financial burden of adopting children.
Panelist: Carisa Wilsie and her husband, Chad, are adoptive parents of three children. She is the Director of Orphan Care Ministries at Bethany, Council Road. She also serves as a faculty member at the Center on Child Abuse and Neglect at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Carisa has her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Auburn University.
Panelist: Teri Blanton is the Foster Care Coordinator for Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children. She has assisted several states with child placement requirements and trained social workers regarding adoption issues. She also served in Russia with the International Mission Board.
Parents of missionaries serving with the International Mission Board are invited to a luncheon. Click here for more information. Anyone is invited to the Missionary Appreciation Dinner, but we do offer the dinner especially for current, past and emeritus IMB personnel. Please click here for more information.
