Miller On Southeast Alaska Campaign Swing; Speaks To Students At Historic Mount Edgecumbe High School
Sitka, Alaska. October 12, 2016 -- Joe Miller is making a campaign swing through Southeast Alaska and took time off the trail on Wednesday to speak to students at the highly renowned Mount Edgecumbe High School in Sitka, which is primarily attended by Alaska Natives.
Miller’s campaign swing in the Southeast includes stops in Juneau, Sitka, and Ketchikan.
In Sitka on Wednesday, he attended a Chamber of Commerce luncheon, held a meet and greet and spoke to students in multiple classes at the Mount Edgecumbe High School, a boarding school originally established by the Bureau of Indian Affairs in the 1940s.
Ninety percent of the students who attend the prestigious school go on to college.
Miller, who is a former adjunct political science professor at the University of Alaska, found the experience very rewarding.
“These students blew me away,” said Miller. “Their inquisitiveness and the types of questions they were asking were what I would expect at the college level.”
“I’m so glad to have been able to spend some time with these phenomenal young Alaskans,” he added.
Miller’s next stop will be in Juneau for a campaign event with supporters Wednesday evening, then on to Ketchikan on Thursday for multiple events, including stopping by a Save the PFD (Permanent Fund Dividend) Recall drive.
Joe Miller is a limited government Constitutionalist who believes government exists to protect our liberties, not to take them away. He supports free people, free markets, federalism, the Constitutional right to life, the 2nd Amendment, religious liberty, American sovereignty, and a strong national defense.
