Apologies to those who have been waiting months for a new Zentangle class. If you follow me on Facebook, you'll know that a lot has been happening the last few months.
I've gotten somewhat used to life without my daughter at home. It was a huge adjustment, but now seem to have my head wrapped around this new way of living.
I have attended 3 Zentangle retreats since the last newsletter and am planning on attending ZenAgain next month, so look for some new classes. The first of which is a "colored pencil & glaze" class inspired by Sharla Hicks's Dance of the Petals & Leaves retreat.
I've started back to work on the new Renaissance Book, now titled: "Timeless Tangling: Renaissance Inspired Zentangle Art." Congratulations to Julie Childers for the winning suggestion and thank you to everyone who filled out the survey. This book has taken more than twice the time as the other three combined. But, I think it will be worth it in the end. I have some very talented featured artists, including Marty Deckle, Kae Yoshino, Michele Beauchamp, and Eni Oken to name a few. Have a favorite who I didn't list? Drop me a note, and I'll see if I can convince them to contribute.
Help with Shattuck
Thanks to those who attended my mini-class at the Bexley Library last month. Several people requested additional help with the tangle Shattuck. So, here are a few videos that might help you out:
Deb has a relaxing 10-minute video on it.
Ellen Wolthers, who does lots of Zentangle videos demos it here.
And a quick demo 2-minute.
Stress Awareness Day
I thought that everyone was aware of stress and the impact it could have on your health and life. But, the International Stress Management Association (ISMA) created this day to help provide information on stress, and strategies. If you've tried Zentangle, you know it can help you alleviate stress. If you haven't, now is your time!
I will be having a special "Simply Zentangle - Meditative Evening" class on November 4. It is for all levels of Zentangle experience.
In the meantime, please watch this video where fellow CZT Judy Gucker makes some important points about how practicing the Zentangle Method takes one from "mind-full" to "mindful." She also mentions Pattern Play!
As always, don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about Zentangle, my classes or books, or just to say hello. Until next time,
Happy tangling,
