PASTOR APPRECIATION MONTH
The church board would like to remind the congregation that October is Pastor Appreciation Month. We encourage you to say a personal word of thanks to them or to drop off notes/cards of appreciation at the information desk and we will get those to the appropriate pastor. We are blessed as a church to have such gifted, dedicated, and called ministers who serve us on a daily basis. Please take a moment to let them know that we appreciate what they do and the sacrifices they and their families make.
ALABASTER OFFERING
Alabaster Offering collection boxes are available for pick-up this Sunday, October 16, at the Info Center and NFCN Kids Check-in locations. We will collect the Alabaster Offering on Sunday, October 23 at the Info Center. Alabaster Offering directly pays for churches, schools, parsonages, and medical centers on the mission field.

SOME NON-NEGOTIABLES IN AN AGE OF PARTISAN RELATIVITY
As the last few weeks have unfolded, several short statements have crossed my mind that need to be said for those who desire to have holy influence in our American culture. You may disagree with some of them, which is fine, but I believe these to be scripturally-based and non-negotiable, for me at least. Prayerfully consider:
- The immoral behavior of one person does not justify any immoral behavior or vulgar speech of a another person.
- Politicians have no more right to hypocrisy or intentional two-faced-ness on positions than preachers or anyone else.
- There is a distinct difference between strategy and deception. One is smart and the other is wrong.
- No Christ-follower can ever justify sexual assault, sexual objectification of another or male domination of women, including the use of power to coerce or lure, regardless of person, party or position.
- To intentionally cover-up, mislead or outright lie about one's behavior or mistakes is always wrong, no matter who is doing it, unless some higher value of life or death is at stake.
- Bullying, destructive name-calling, and intentional demeaning or removing of human dignity from another person is never justifiable, either in life or in politics, regardless of one's age or status in life.
- The role of the Christ-follower who is Spirit-filled and pursuing holiness is always to seek, wherever possible, common ground and relational reconciliation between conflicting parties.
- The role of the Christ-follower who is Spirit-filled and pursuing holiness is never on the screaming fringe, but towards the middle to seek peace and unity.
- The ultimate allegiance of the Christ-follower who is Spirit-filled and pursuing holiness is never to person, party, nation or cause or any other than that of Christ and the Kingdom of God.
- There is justifiable credibility in not voting, voting for write-in candidates and/or voting for the lesser of evils as a Christ-follower in national elections, and we will come to differing conclusions all within our faith.
Some healthy reminders in the last few weeks (mercifully!) of a national political season.
Blessings.
